Joint Summer Camps

Every summer 10 eighth- and ninth-graders from Ramat Negev spend one session either at the JCC Ranch Camp or Temple Emanuel’s Camp Shwayder, thanks in-part to funding provided by Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado’s Partnership2Gether allocation. Not only does this residential camping experience enable the Israeli teens to meet American teens, their influence can be felt by the entire camp community. Each year, approximately 60 teens apply for the ten available spots. From the sixty, twenty are selected as candidates. Each of the candidates must participate in a meaningful year-long community service project and meet with a “coach” once a month. At the end of the year, ten are chosen to become Colorado camp “ambassadors.”
