Shalom All!!! The “Alternative Spring Break” Seminar in the Western Galilee ended! By Eliad Eliyahu
The words Peoplehood, Partnership, Tikum Olam and Jewish Identity grew and created new meaning to me over the last eight days.
Nothing compares to 33 passionate college students from three continents, who come to volunteer 2Gether with meaningful ideals and great enthusiasm.
Please visit our Alternative Spring Break Program Blog that was created by participants during the program.
Thanks to Ayala Peer the Texas Hilel Shlicha for this great idea of opening the Alternative Spring Break BLOG!!!
I am sure you will be honored and proud to read what a great impact the Alternative Spring Break had, not only on the community in the Western Galilee, which benefited a lot, but also on the students themselves.
What is also unique about this program is that ALL the ASB happened ONLY in the partnership region- the Western Galilee.
After last night’s “Maagal Laila” (the night reflection circle) with all the participants from Louisville, Austin, Budapest and Israel I can feel that the words Peoplehood, Partnership, Tikum Olam and Jewish Identity got a new meaning for them too. I wait and hope to hear how the communities themselves will benefit from the participation of the students in this program.
I would like to share the short clip created by Efrat Srebro, it shows a unique activity between kids and soldiers on the Napoleon Hill in Akko during the Seminar.
Wishing you and your families Happy Passover!
