Yokneam Baseball/Softball at the Israeli Olympics 2012

Yokneam Cardinals Baseball/Softball Team was invited to the Israeli Olympics at Wingate for the first time last week in the beginning on May. Of the teams that participated, Yokneam has only played for nine months and half of the players this is the first year they have ever played. One player had only been playing for three weeks. We are so proud of the accomplishments of the team and winning the Bronze Medal.

Yokneam is fairly new to the sport of Baseball/Softball and has been playing with one team for the last three years. This year they have two teams, the Cardinals and the Braves. Many coaches in Israel have commented on how much the team has advanced and they have not seen such great players from Yokneam in the past. We want to see Baseball/Softball advance in the future and bring many more trophies to represent Yokneam. At Channukah and Purim they participated in tournaments. Yokneam came in second place at both events. This is truly amazing as most of the other teams have regular grass fields to practice and play on. We are looking forward to continuing to be competitive with the other teams in Israel and in order to be competitive need to practice on a grass field. Please join us in celebrating the victories and advancement of Baseball/ Softball as we represent Yokneam in sports in Israel.
